My picture book story shortlisted for the Kelpies Prize for Writing 2026 is set on a lively Scottish coastline of fishing boats, puffins and kite-filled skies, and follows a small gust of wind searching for her place in the world. It’s a gentle story about belonging, recognition, and the joy of finally being seen. You can read an extract from the story on the Kelpies website.

This is a story featuring Finn Finity, which I wrote for my Maths Week Scotland colleague as a gift on occassion of her wedding. Real life names and locations have been changed here, to protect her privacy. (June 2025)
